Start Slow With Osmosis Skin Care If You Have Sensitive Skin

Posted by JoElla Milan on February 12, 2015

OsmosisRestore So many people purchase skin care products and jump right in and start using them.  That is not the best way to go.   Especially if you have sensitive skin.  It is best to start slowly.  Several times per week, then try it once a day.  Once you feel your skin can tolerate a product, you can move to twice per day.  That way if you see the signs of sensitive skin, you can back off a little and start again.

Relieve is the mildest Retinaldehyde product that Osmosis makes.  If you have never used the products, I would start there.   If you have Rosacea, then you may want to try Calm. That is made to help improve and remodel skin with Rosacea.   Next we have Correct.  That is in the same strength as Calm, but it is a little stronger than Relieve, yet gentle to the skin.  It is anti-aging and repairing for the skin.

All 3 are a perfect way to start your skin care regime with Osmosis.   You want to purchase a bottle of Clear also, to help the products penetrate.   Also you may use them along with  Stem Factor or one of the Catalyst Products.

When you purchase, use the code save in the shopping cart

Osmosis Skin Care vs Pigmentation

Posted by JoElla Milan on August 5, 2010

Pigmentation is the worst thing possible it seems.  We all seem to have it somewhere on our face.  Some worse than others.  You feel as thought everyone can see it.   Some ethnic groups are more prone to pigmentation than others.  You have to find the right product that will help you.  There is no easy answer.

In the Osmosis Skin Care line, two new products are very helpful.  Catalyst which is a wonderful amino acid mix with Vitamin C.  there is nothing like it on the market.   It is anti-aging, helps with acne, rosacea and of course pigmentation.   Use it twice a day.

The next new product is Skin Nutrition.  It is stronger than Catalyst, but in a different way.  Skin Nutrition is a powder you mix with other Osmosis products.  It puts up a good fight against pigmentation.   Your pigmentation may look darker at first, but as it calms down, so does the pigmentation.

Enlighten is another product that is beneficial. It has retinaldehyde which is stronger than retinol, but gentle on the skin.  Also you may add in a little Lighting Blend.  A selected group of powders that work together to lighten your skin and pigmentation.

Start with these.  So many people end up getting laser surgery, but most of the time that is an expensive temporary answer.   You will see in time, the pigmentation seems to come up again.

I personally feel you would be better off using excellent products and getting a good facial peel from your esthetician or physician.  You should have better results over time.

Of course always wear sunscreen. If you do not, it will come back.

Osmosis Skin Care Result Oriented Ingredient

Posted by JoElla Milan on July 25, 2009

In Osmosis Skin Care, one of the ingredients that have made the most difference is Retinaldehyde: Simply the best skincare ingredient available. It has all of the benefits of Retin A without the irritation. It reduces oil and bacteria, it exfoliates and remodels the epidermis/dermis by actively stimulating collagen/elastin production as the research shows. Retinaldehyde VS Other Retinols.  This is information by Dr. Ben Johnson the creator of Osmosis.

Osmosis Skin Care vs CosMedix Skin Care

Posted by JoElla Milan on July 25, 2009

Osmosis Pur Medical Skin Care has taken us into the most current decade  in skin care.  State of the art.  The best ingredients at the best possible prices. Dr. Ben Johnson is the creator and formulator of Osmosis Skin Care.  It is a chirally correct line, that is growing in popularity daily.

Dr. Ben Johnson also created and formulated CosMedix Skin Care in approximately 1998.  I have carried both lines, and have known Dr. Johnson professionally from the beginning.   I can tell you without a doubt, my clients have had much more advanced results with Osmosis.

Aside from the many incredible ingredients he uses, Retinaldehyde vs Retinol is the difference.   Retinaldehyde is stronger than Retinol, yet more gentle on the skin.  My clients have seen much more anti-aging benefits with Osmosis.  Once I saw the benefits of Osmosis, I decided it was not necessary to carry CosMedix. I had the best with the Osmosis products

Boost is the strongest anti-aging product in the Osmosis line. Once your skin adjusts to Boost, it will help turn back the clock. Boost is 1000 times stronger than retinol, yet more gentle.  You want to start with the more gentle products in Osmosis first, since Boost is good to use after you have been on the Osmosis line for at least 30 days.

Renew by Osmosis Skin Care

Posted by JoElla Milan on May 12, 2009

Renew by Osmosis Skin Care, will lightly exfoliate the skin and hydrate it.  Repair that sundamaged skin that took a lifetime to accumulate.   Renew will help unlease the beautful skin underneath. Use in conjunction with Replenish.

Skin health restoration is critical for the prevention of aging both in younger individuals as well as more damaged skin types. To accomplish this, two things must be stimulated; fibroblast activity and blood flow to the skin.

Fibroblasts stimulate collagen, elastin, and GAG’s which are all critical to repairing skin density and the overall look and quality of the skin. , The more blood supply, the better the health of the skin in every category.

Renew’s state of the art ingredients  are active, yet  gentle to the skin.  Retin A can be as effective, but it is over-irritating and makes the skin sensitive.  Retinaldehyde, Chorella, GHK Copper, and Lipoic Acid are a few of many ingredients that help make up Renew.

Two of the key products of Osmosis are Renew and Replenish.  They can make a big difference in your skin.  Start with these 2  and then add some of the other wonderful products as your skin becomes acclimated to the products.

Osmosis Skin Care Boost The Secret Weapon for Anti-Aging

Posted by JoElla Milan on March 6, 2009

A tip from Dr. Johnson on seeing more anti-aging around the eye area.   Boost his strongest product and the most retinaldehyde is excellent to restore the skin, help with scarring from acne, and honestly turn back the clock.

If you have no specific eye concerns then you can do Boost or an extra pump of your normal Osmosis serum at night around the eyes. That will do more than the eye serum for lines and long-term skin health.  This includes crows feet.
Start slow with Boost and see how the skin responds. Try doing more pumps of Boost at night and see how well your skin can take it.

Osmosis Boost

Posted by JoElla Milan on January 14, 2009

Would you like to do a light peel or exfoliation at home?  Osmosis Boost is a great option.  Exfoliates and yet gentle to the skin.  Boost has Retinaldehyde, which is stronger than retinol, yet more mild.

Dr. Johnson feels that a switch to Boost, instead of a strong Retinol product is a good move.  Some Retinols are  too harsh on the skin. They have  a low  pH,  low delivery mechanism so the net effect is over-exfoliation which,  makes the skin age faster. Boost with retinaldehyde is 1000 times stronger than l-retinol but more gentle on the skin.

Use alone, or add to your other products for an extra Boost.

Osmosis Boost

Posted by JoElla Milan on December 16, 2008

Osmosis Boost is a product you need to have if you want to exfolite those  dead skin cells and see the beautiful skin beneath.

Boost is an all-natural, liposomal, chirally correct “level three” anti-aging serum that contains ingredients that are proven to dramatically improve the skin.

Boost can be added to any kit, Osmosis product or used individually. It contains 0.2% Retinaldehyde as well as many other collagen/elastin stimulating ingredients. Retinaldehyde is stronger than retinol, yet more gentle on the skin.

Many of my clients use Boost at home once or twice per week at night.  You will notice your skin lightly exfolite.  Boost is similar to some gentle peels I do on my clients.   I also have clients that spot treat with Boost on their breakout areas.   This product is a must for your home spa.

Understanding Vitamin A

Posted by JoElla Milan on November 29, 2008

UNDERSTANDING VITAMIN A   Excerp from Dr. Ben Johnson

There is no more important skin ingredient than Vitamin A. The body stores Beta Carotene and Vitamin A (aka Retinol) in the skin for activation whenever it needs to repair itself (which ends up being 24hrs/day). It converts Retinol to Retinaldehyde, which has some activity, and then it converts Retinaldehyde to Retinoic Acid (aka Retin A). Looking at this process, you would naturally think that Retin A is the answer since that is the most active of the group and has the majority of receptors in the skin. The reason that is not true is because retinoic acid requires very careful regulation. The skin has no ability to store retinoic acid so whatever is produced (or applied topically) is utilized. Unfortunately, like many processes in the body, when receptors are over-stimulated, they do not work as well. In the case of Retin A, the irritation resulting from over-stimulation reduces its effectiveness and the downregulation of receptors makes it less active over time. Retinol, on the contrary, can be stored in the skin. It is 1/500th as active as Retin A and has little independent activity outside of what is converted to Retin A by the skin (which is a very small amount). To achieve an adequate response, approximately 5% is needed topically every day. Retinaldehyde is the immediate precursor to Retin A and has been proven to have similar activity in the skin to Retin A. The big advantage is that the skin can store whatever is not converted, thus reducing irritation and maximizing effectiveness with long-term use. Maximum stimulation of collagen/elastin with minimal irritation, that is why Retinaldehyde is the best form of Vitamin A available.

Another important misconception about Retinols is there ability to penetrate the skin. They are a large molecule and often have difficulty penetrating to the dermis where they are needed. To combat this problem, some companies use doses around 5% knowing that at least some of the Retinol will make it into the dermis. The downside of this is that a large part of the retinol sits superficially resulting in over-exfoliation which compromises the skin’s defenses. To effectively penetrate ingredients like Retinaldehyde, the use of liposomal technology can be extremely important. The net result is that there is less exfoliation (irritation) because the ingredient isn’t being activated in the superficial epidermis and there is more collagen/elastin produced because of the now higher levels in the dermis.
